The 2013 SavageMan Triathlon Festival will be held September 14-15, 2013.
The SavageMan 30.0 is on Saturday and the SavageMan 70.0 on Sunday.


Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County boast some of the finest terrain for swimming, biking, and running, and in just a few short years the SavageMan Triathlon Festival has won accolades and inclusion in lists of Best Triathlon, Hardest Triathlon, and Most Fun Triathlon!

  1. SavageMan 70.0 Triathlon named USAT Mid-Atlantic Long Course Championship for 2013 and 2014!
  2. SavageMan Triathlon wins first place in two categories of Triathlete Magazine's "Best of 2012" competition!

  4. The 2013 SavageMan Triathlon Festival will include Triathlon (swim-bike-run), Aqua-Bike (swim-bike), and Duathlon (run-bike-run) divisions over both the 30.0 and 70.0 courses.
  5. New in 2013: the 1st Annual Mountain Massacree Road Race, a USA Cycling certified road race in the hilly terrain of Garrett County.
  6. New in 2013: the 1st Annual SavageCamp Triathlon Camp, a 3 day immersive triathlon training camp focused on the SavageMan courses, on 7/12 - 7/14
  7. New in 2013: the Big Savage Mountain Hill Climb, a 7.7 mile time trial over Westernport Wall and Big Savage Mountain, to be held on the 2nd day of the Garrett County Gran Fondo (6/23)

And, by popular demand, here is the 2012 Westernport Wall bloopers reel. Despite this evidence to the contrary, 206 SavageMan athletes actually summited the hill and earned their brick in the wall in 2012!

Fundraising proceeds from "Win-The-Fight" Events benefit the Joanna M. Nicolay Melanoma Foundation, the "voice of melanoma prevention, detection, care and cure." Melanoma is the most serious and lethal form of skin cancer accounting for 79% of all skin cancer deaths. This savage cancer is a potential threat to all outdoor sports enthusiasts.
