The Savage Century is an extremely challenging and beautiful century that shares the initial 59 and final 15 miles with the Diabolical Double. At 102 miles and over 12,700 feet of climbing, the Savage Century is a worthy epic ride in it's own right. Compact cranks or triples are very strongly encouraged.

The Savage Century shares route with the Diabolical Double through Checkpoint 3, which includes the most challenging stretch of the Diabolical Double from Checkpoints 1 to 3. Then, the Savage Century heads directly for Checkpoint 6 by riding through the flat Savage River valley and avoiding the Diabolical Double's long descent into Westernport and substantial climbs in West Virginia. The routes converge again at Checkpoint 6 and continue together to the finish atop ASCI.
